I will include pictures to this later, after I've put on my makeup and stuff. Right now, I have a cold and I just woke up, so I probably look like Toughie from Cell 4.
I am having a quandary. Natural sisters, please provide input if you will.
I am torn between growing my lowboy out and going for the glorious afro once again OR staying short at least until the end of the upcoming summer. I don't know what to do. I hate the middle area where my hair is too long and too short to do a damned thing with. I mean, I would love to grow out one hell of an afro, but I don't want to put forth that much effort into it. That's why I went short in the first place. I know Mr. Slim would like me to grow it out so that he can (rated M for mature). I know he doesn't mind, but I know if he had to pick one so that he could live, he would go with longer. The good thing is he isn't sweating me and is supportive.
I want to do braid-outs and twist outs...one day. I just don't know if I have the mettle to grow my afro out again. It took a lot of patience last time. It also took a year and some months for me to see length. AAAARGH! Wha' fi do?

i think u should leave it whatever way makes u the most happy. i am a advocate for growing it though b/c when i went natural i could not wait for it to grow to rock my twist outs
Seems like you want to grow your hair out so try twisting/braiding your hair w/ or w/o extensions and leave it alone for a month(check periodically to make sure it's not locking lol). I've been doing protective styling for over a year and this is how I retain length and I don't have to worry about my hair everyday. Hope that helps :)
