Remember the teenage girl who was thrashed all around a cell by a Washington State Deputy?
Well she's back in the news, and this time, she's screwed herself royally in the court of public opinion. She's managed to give the Sheriff's Deputy's apologists some ammo. I mean, you would think after getting smashed around she would assess her life situation. I guess not...
A 16-year-old girl whose beating by a King County sheriff's deputy was captured on camera is now facing a felony harassment charge for allegedly threatening another teenager at Westfield Southcenter mall.
Malika Calhoun pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning to the harassment charge as well as a charge of criminal trespassing, a gross misdemeanor, in King County Juvenile Court.
According to charging papers, the alleged victim said she was standing in line at the mall's Cinnabon counter on Feb. 2 when she overheard two other girls say they were angry at her for some slight she had committed against a 17-year-old friend. Later that day, the 17-year-old and Calhoun approached the alleged victim at the mall, the papers state.
Calhoun reportedly became angry and said, "I will come back with a burner ... and shoot you in the face," according to charging papers. "Burner" is a slang term for a handgun, court documents said.
The alleged victim's mother was with her at the time. She separated the girls and called 911, court papers say. Tukwila police officers arrested Calhoun and the 17-year-old at the mall. The 17-year-old was not charged.
The two teenagers had been issued trespass warnings a day earlier in which they had agreed not to return to the mall for a year, investigators said. It's unclear from court documents why they were barred from returning to the mall.
Oh my, my, my Malika! Really, Malika? Really?
I don't know her or her situation, but I cannot help but wonder where the hell the belt is (Yes, I said it) and was for this young lady. Trust me, after stealing the family car, I would've been RIGHTEOUSLY afraid of my mother's indignation. Hell, I would've taken the ass whooping from the Sheriff over what my mother would have served up.
Unfortunately, Malika is not clear on what consequences are as they relate to her actions. You HAVE to know that the "fuzz" was just WAITING to get into your ass after taking one of their guys down, EVEN if he was wrong for beating you down to the ground. Literally.
As your mother, you could've expected me to follow your ass into the bathroom after your earlier brush with the law. You wouldn't have been able to urinate without me being right there standing by you. I would've made a prison for you at home so that you would KNOW that your freedoms are precious and not to be tampered with. But for some reason, your family or parental unit(s) felt that you could be trusted to go to a mall. Hell no! You would've done all your shopping via catalog, damn it.
And your critical thinking faculties are missing in action. Why would you threaten some girl with "heat" in front of her mother? Do you WANT to go to jail? It appears that you do.
The problem with these kids these days is the parents have basically put up a "screw effort" sign on their doors and their kids are taking notes.
My kids will know and know that we are their judge, jury and executioner. Kids need to FEAR you. I used to buy into that whole thing about how fearing your parents is bad for your self-esteem. To hell with that! The real world is FAR colder when they leave the nest.
I had to break up a fight for the second time on Saturday night. A gaggle of street urchins...Err, I mean children were jumping on some kid. Okay, fighting is normal for kids. I get that. To hell with liberal non-violence shit. I used to throw down as a kid, and I went on to college and a happy, meaningful and spiritual life. It's not a big deal. What is a big deal is when these street urchins are jumping one kid, one little girl is debasing him and physically abusing him for him not hitting her back, and fighting in a street where some cars go zooming by. Where were the parents? A day late and a penny short. While their kids were doing "hoodrat stuff," they were nowhere to be seen. I was once the kid getting intimidated and jumped by little snots just like them. Nobody interceded. Thanks to that experience, I do. Kids have GUNS these days. I don't want anybody splattered on a car's grill or shot or hemorrhaging from the brain because they fell. I ran out, helped to break it up, consoled the victim, gave him some water and me and my brother gave him some sage advice. They were fighting over an iPod that was dead when returned to the aggressor. WOW!!!!
Now the parents come out and they try to get close. First of all, nobody is getting close with my brother there. The guy is huge and looks like he hurts people for screwing up his Big Mac. Just a big, old Defensive Lineback looking guy. I'm pretty tall myself, and I look pretty intimidating too. They sat there whining to themselves that I broke up a fight. I shouldn't have had to.
Somewhere along the line, we decided to take an indifferent approach to parenting, afraid to "offend" our kids. I'm not saying be abusive. Never that. I am saying that I have learned that taking even a small break in discipline can be detrimental.
I would like to think this is the last time we see her, but I am not so sure if this is the last we'll hear of Malika. I'll wish her the best. Sphere: Related Content

I believe that the majority of problems kids end up in are due to poor parenting. Not saying the small "stupid" stuff all of us did, but the big ones. You know what I'm sayin'?
Obviously this little girl thinks she's a celebrity, and she can get away with anything.
Malika has problems, no doubt. A girl in a woman's body, full of hormonal rage and too many conflicting models of how she should behave, she's an accident waiting to happen, but that none of that excuses the police officer who assaulted her. He, as an adult, is supposed to be far more in control of his "rage" than she,and certainly more accountable, or AS accountable to the law as she, and for that reason he ought to be tried for assault and duly sentenced. What she did does not excuse him, despite what her detractors and his supporters say to the contrary.
What a piece of trash........
